The first day of school is tomorrow, Tuesday, August 13th. We cannot wait to welcome your scholar into our classrooms!
This week we're focusing on procedures, routines and systems. All things which we will need to practice so we can have an orderly and joyful year! Part of our dismissal routine is allowing students to read silently after they have completed their homework. Please send your scholar to school tomorrow with a silent reading book. You might also want to send your scholar with a healthy snack. Our lunch is the last lunch this year so scholar's will have a short snack at the beginning of recess. Please do not send snack that is "finger licking good" aka anything that coats their fingers. Many uniforms and papers have been caught "orange handed".
Please continue to read over all the important papers in your scholar's file that you received during Meet the Teacher. If you have not turned it in already, please send in the nurse form with your scholar as soon as possible. This way the nurses can update their records and we'll have a happy healthy year!
As we will need perseverance this week in learning and relearning our procedures we will also be reading our poem for the week:
Try, Try Again
by William Edward Hickson
It's a lesson you should heed,
Try, try again.
If at first you don't succeed,
Try, try again.
Then your courage should appear,
For if you will persevere,
You will conquer, never fear,
Try, try again.
Warmly,
🌻 Third Grade Team
