Hello Third Grade Families,
We are on our last week before Winter Break! Continue to encourage positive, scholarly behavior even in the midst of the fun dress up days for the 5 days of giving.
Content Corner:
- Math- Students are practicing word problems this week with a quiz on Friday. If you have Multiplication and Division flash cards, practice those with your child so they can know the facts from memory and not only rely on the skip counting songs.
- Spalding- We have 30 words this week and test on Friday.
- Reading-Read aloud 20 minutes each night and scholars are filling out the reading log.(Parents just initial) Make sure they are writing in complete sentences.
- Literature- We are having a Seminar and test over The Lion, The Witch, and the Wardrobe on Wednesday. Our new poem is Friends, Romans, Countrymen by William Shakespeare due January 24, 2025. They can say the poem before break if they would like.
- Grammar- We are continuing to discuss research and writing paragraph outlines, which will help in our Independent Study Project on Ancient Rome. There will be a manilla folder sent home on Thursday filled with all the contents for the project.
- History- We are continuing to discuss Ancient Rome and will have a history test over our vocabulary on Friday.
