Quarter 1 Week 4

Hello Third Grade Families!

It was a joy to welcome many families to Curriculum Night last week! The Third-Grade teachers are thankful for your parent partnership & excited for a wonderful year ahead! We are developing scholarly habits, so thank you for discussing excellent work and behavior with your children from home as they hear in class!

Content Corner:
  • Math- We are learning rounding and will have a quiz Friday
  • Spalding- We have 20 words this week due to Labor Day
  • Reading- Read aloud 20 minutes each night and scholars are filling out the reading log. (Parents just initial)
  • Literature- We are continuing to read Little House on the Prairie (LHOP) and learning various figurative language devices such as Alliteration, Simile, and Imagery.
  • Grammar- We are continuing to learn about nouns, adjectives, and adverbs. Students are diagraming sentences. There is a Grammar Test over Proper, plural, and singular nouns this Friday. We have been reviewing in class each day.
  • Science- It is a science week where we are discussing traits of animals and habitats

Updates and Events:
  • Individual Picture Day is tomorrow! :)
  • Clubs begins today, September 3
  • By Myself poem is due this Friday, September 13th
  • If your child is absent, make sure to complete the missing work from school. You have as many days as absent to complete the work.
  • Progress reports and deficiencies will be sent out this week which will share how your child is doing in all the classes.
  • Continue to wash hands, sleep well, & send a water bottle to school so all scholars are healthy & happy!

Warmly,
🌻 Third Grade Team
