Quarter 4 Week 6

Hello Third Grade Families,

We have another full week of learning and a full Friday this week!

Content Corner:
  • Math- We are beginning a unit on shapes and identifying the various figures. Quiz on Friday.
  • Spalding- We have 20 words this week due to STAAR on Tuesday.
  • Reading-Read aloud 20 minutes each night and scholars are filling out the reading log.
  • Literature- We are continuing on the journey in our book, Trumpet of the Swan, this week. We are also filling out the WONDER QUESTIONS, where each night your scholar gets to explore a question about life like the main character, Sam Beaver, does in the story. The new poem, Godfrey Gordon Gustavus Gore, will be recited this Wednesday, April 30.
  • Grammar- We are writing another narrative story, and the scholars are having to use sensory details and quality adjectives as they write. Editing Home-connect for revising their story will be sent home on Wednesday.
  • History-We are continuing to learn about explorers and will have our test on Thursday, April 24th. Then, we will begin learning about the 13 colonies.
Updates and Events:
  • No Homework on Monday due to STAAR
  • Math STAAR Tuesday, April 22
  • Trumpet of the Swan Celebration May 1 (another email sent today) Signups are live tomorrow at 5 pm
